Linux Systems Administrator

Our client, a leading global IT outsourcer and business solutions provider, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator. The role is based in Macquarie Park and will be a permanent position.

The role will entail the day to day support and some server build work.

The skills required for this role are;

• Able to document and review client's existing production and DR build and develop technical recovery procedures.
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Proactive, strategic thinker
• Customer consultative skills
• Strong knowledge level of Linux (RedHat)
• Linux environment: Installing, Configuring, Patching, Building and Maintaining RedHat Servers.
• Good Knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and associated tools
• Knowledge of Enterprise backup solutions and communications
• Thorough understanding of server hardware and peripherals, including SAN and RAID arrays
• Managing the trouble ticket queue,
• Responding to proactive monitoring alerts,
• Executing change controls,
• Performance monitoring and tuning,
• System diagnostics.
• Systems administration experience 5 years
• Excellent communication skills
