Job description

Position Overview:

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and lead the implementation of an Asset policy framework, enabling proactive strategy development, planning, operations, and evaluation. You will deliver high-quality, innovative policy products to support the ICT Asset management strategy, ensuring alignment with best practices and providing expert advice to senior management across government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality policy advice and analysis on complex strategic policy and ICT Asset Management issues, integrating best practice governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Lead multiple time-critical reform projects, driving the development of new policy initiatives under limited direction.
  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert to staff, executives, and key stakeholders, offering professional advice on Asset policy matters.
  • Cultivate strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability in high-level research, independent strategic thinking, and analytical skills of policy matters.
  • Proficiency in interpreting legislation, regulations, and other guideline materials, providing accurate advice.
  • Experience in designing and delivering significant policy outcomes, including planning, information gathering, stakeholder consultations, and policy documentation.
  • Strong drafting skills for written communications, including reports, submissions, and complex correspondence.
  • Understanding of key conceptual frameworks for strategic policy development, such as systems thinking, Theory of Change approaches, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, liaison, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver against timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team, providing support and contributing to team development.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Asset Management or a related field is highly desirable but not essential.
