An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Print Room Assistant to join a busy and highly regarded in-house print and design team supporting a major Australian Government department.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on commercial print production experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and thrives on delivering exceptional customer service.
Working as part of a small and collaborative team, you will play a critical role in delivering printing, publishing and finishing services that support senior executives, government stakeholders and business areas across Australia and internationally.
About the Role
As the Print Room Assistant, you will be responsible for the day to day production and delivery of a wide range of print services, including:

Printing, finishing, binding and publishing of printed materials

Producing briefing packs, manuals, booklets, event materials and corporate publications
-
Managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines
-
Responding to stakeholder enquiries regarding print requirements
-
Coordinating with external suppliers and service providers
-
Maintaining production schedules and workflow priorities
-
Assisting with storage, dissemination and distribution of printed materials
-
Supporting continuous improvement of print room processes and documentation
-
Performing basic equipment troubleshooting and coordinating maintenance when required
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
-
Previous experience operating commercial print production equipment
-
Experience in digital printing, finishing, binding and publishing services
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
-
Excellent organisational and time management skills
-
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict deadlines
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Proven stakeholder engagement and customer service capabilities
-
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
-
Experience maintaining procedures, documentation and production schedules
Highly Desirable
-
Experience using commercial print management software
-
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Creative Suite

Experience working within government or corporate print environments
-
Experience coordinating external print suppliers and vendors
Physical Requirements
This is a hands on operational role requiring:
-
Standing for extended periods
-
Lifting materials up to 15kg
-
Loading paper stocks and consumables
-
Reaching, bending and resolving equipment jams
-
Operating specialised print production equipment
Security Requirement
Applicants must hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance.
