Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled DevOps Lead to join our client on a 12-month contract. This pivotal role demands a strong background in architecture, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). As a DevOps Lead, you will collaborate closely with developers and engineers to establish and enforce DevOps best practices across the development team. Your expertise in infrastructure automation, particularly within VMware and Azure environments, will be crucial in engaging with enterprise stakeholders to design, implement, and support automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the establishment and enforcement of DevOps best practices across the development team.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to design and implement automation solutions.
  • Manage and automate infrastructure, with a focus on VMware and Azure environments.
  • Drive the design, development, and maintenance of a highly secure Windows server SOE solution using Ansible, JFrog, and Packer.
  • Ensure effective CI/CD practices and tools are in place.
  • Automate OS patching and implement security policies on both public and private cloud platforms.
  • Engage with enterprise stakeholders to design and support automation solutions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure automation.
  • Strong background in infrastructure visualisation and cloud technologies, including VMware and Azure.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and platforms such as GitHub/Azure DevOps, JFrog Artifactory, Ansible, and Packer.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, Multicast, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, specifically Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with VMware Tanzu/VCF.
  • Experience with Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of Dell & NetApp hardware.
