Staying safe in the workplace

We work with our clients and contractors to ensure our contractors utilise safe work practices, and operate in a safe work environment. As a Paxus contractor, you have a legal responsibility to look after your own health and safety, and the safety of those who may be affected by your actions.

We take all reasonable precautions to provide and maintain an environment that is safe, and without risk to the health of our contractors. We make it our priority to ensure our contractors report all accidents and hazards to their supervisor and to Paxus, and integrate wherever possible with our clients’ WHS policies and procedures.

Our commitment to contractor health and safety includes:

  • In partnership with ITCRA’s iSafe Risk Assessment Program, conducting workplace reviews of our client sites to ensure safe systems of work and safe work practices
  • Conducting a WHS Induction for all contractors
  • Providing a range of ergonomic assessments, tools and exercises for people who work at computers for long periods of time
  • Ensuring that all work related accidents/incidents and near misses are reported using a computerised reporting database. This is to not only comply with health and safety legislation, but to provide a method for early intervention, accident investigation and corrective action
  • Providing practical assistance to enable any contractor who is injured whilst at work to remain at work or alternatively return to work at the earliest opportunity.
