Contract Administration Officer – APS5 Equivalent

12-month contract | Hybrid role | ACT, NSW, or QLD

Join a growing government program supporting the delivery of critical national infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail oriented Contract Administration Officer to step into a meaningful role within a high-performing federal government division.


About the Role

As a Contract Administration Officer (APS5 equivalent), you will support the effective management of a portfolio of key ICT and contracts management. Working alongside Contract Managers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure contractual, financial and reporting obligations are met.

This role is suited to a motivated and collaborative professional with contract administration or procurement experience within a structured or government environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with end to end contract administration, including tracking deliverables, managing contract variations, and ensuring financial compliance.

  • Coordinate supplier performance meetings, support reporting and secretariat duties, and monitor performance against agreed KPIs and service levels.

  • Review quotes, raise purchase orders in SAP, acquit invoices, and ensure appropriate approvals and delegations are met.

  • Prepare written advice and contract updates for internal stakeholders and executives.

  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to support performance monitoring, issue resolution, and contract governance.

  • Ensure compliance with government policies and frameworks including PGPA Act, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and agency financial instructions.


About You

You’re a strong communicator with a high level of attention to detail, and you thrive in environments where accuracy, organisation, and compliance are critical. You enjoy working with data, tracking performance, and supporting internal teams to meet contractual obligations.


Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in contract management, procurement, or finance administration (government experience preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply procurement and financial policies and frameworks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using SAP or other purchasing/finance systems highly regarded.

  • Strong written communication skills with an ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

  • High-level organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under limited supervision.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship(mandatory)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance(with potential for higher clearance if required)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check
