Junior / Mid-Level Backup Support Engineer
📍 6 months contracting role with potential extensions | Enterprise Environment

Locations: Melbourne, Canberra Brisbane - Hybrid set-up

Eligibility:
Australian Citizenship required. Must hold Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance.

We are seeking a Junior / Mid-Level Backup Support Engineer to support and maintain enterprise backup and recovery services across a large-scale server and application environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational to intermediate experience looking to grow within a structured infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support backup operations using Veritas NetBackup and/or Commvault

• Provide Level 1 / Level 2 support for backup incidents and restore requests

• Assist with disaster recovery activities and recovery testing

• Apply patches and updates to backup tools and operating systems

• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and compliance records

• Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and application teams

Skills & Experience:

• 2–5 years’ experience in backup or infrastructure support

• Hands-on experience with NetBackup and/or Commvault

• Strong understanding of backup concepts (retention, scheduling, restores)

• Exposure to Windows and Linux environments

• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice to Have:

• VMware, Azure or AWS exposure

• Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash or Python)

• ITIL environment experience
