Job Title: Backup & Recovery Engineer

Location: Melbourne / Brisbane / Canberra (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 months
Security: Australian Citizen required; Baseline or NV1 clearance (NV1 preferred)

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Backup & Recovery Engineer to lead the transition of backup and recovery services from an external provider to internal operations. The role focuses on handover, optimisation, and stabilisation of enterprise backup environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead transition and knowledge transfer from incumbent provider

• Manage and optimise enterprise backup platforms (NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault, etc.)

• Monitor daily backup operations and recovery activities

• Implement and test disaster recovery plans

• Optimise performance and storage efficiency

• Manage incidents, root cause analysis, and compliance documentation

Required Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise backup & recovery tools

• Proven experience transitioning backup services in large environments

• Experience across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)

• Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) desirable
