On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA finance transformation initiative.
This role will suit a finance-focused Business Analyst who has worked in ERP or SAP environments and can confidently engage with finance stakeholders, ICT teams and delivery partners.
About the role
You will support the transition from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA by helping capture business requirements, review current finance processes, support future-state design and ensure the upgraded solution aligns with finance, compliance, reporting and governance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Work with finance stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements
• Review current SAP ECC6 finance processes and support future-state process design in S/4HANA
• Support configuration reviews, business process improvement and finance data mapping
• Assist with data migration planning, including data cleansing, validation and reconciliation
• Prepare business process models, business requirements, user stories and functional documentation
• Participate in solution design workshops and walkthroughs
• Develop test plans and support user acceptance testing
• Support defect management from a finance business perspective
• Contribute to training material and change management activities
• Maintain clear, accurate and audit-ready project documentation
• Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies where required
What we are looking for
- Strong Business Analyst experience within finance, ERP or SAP environments
• Experience on SAP projects, ideally SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA upgrades
• Good understanding of finance processes, including budgeting, financial reporting, asset management, funds management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial controls
• Knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules
• Understanding of S/4HANA capabilities such as Universal Journal and Fiori apps
• Ability to translate business needs into clear system and process requirements
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across finance, ICT and project delivery teams
• Experience preparing project documentation, process maps, user stories and test plans
• Experience supporting UAT, defect management, data migration and reconciliation activities
• Confident using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, Jira, Confluence or similar
Nice to have
- Queensland Government or broader government finance experience
• SAP S/4HANA fit-to-standard experience
• BPMN or formal process modelling experience
• Business Analysis certification such as CBAP or BABOK
• SAP, finance, accounting, business or information systems qualifications
