Business Analyst | Large QLD Local Government | Brisbane

We’re supporting a major Queensland local government organisation on a high-profile program, and we’re looking for two Business Analysts to join the team. These roles will review a wide range of council services and help assess their cost, value, legal obligations, and alignment with strategic priorities.

This is an excellent opportunity for BAs who enjoy analytical work, broad stakeholder interaction, and fast-paced project environments.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll cycle through multiple services, assessing each one using a structured evaluation process. Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting financial data (no financial modelling required).

• Conducting high-level process mapping (simple service flows in Visio or similar).

• Analysing service performance, cost drivers, legal obligations, risks, and community impact.

• Reviewing data from Excel and Power BI dashboards to inform recommendations.

• Producing clear findings, insights, and recommendations.

• Engaging stakeholders across multiple business units.

What You Need

• Strong analytical mindset and the ability to interpret cost/impact data.

• Experience working across complex enterprise environments (public sector preferred).

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.

• High-level process mapping capability.

• Solid Excel skills; Power BI exposure is a plus.

• Strong written documentation and structured thinking.

• Ability to work quickly across multiple workstreams.
