Business Analyst – Business Design & Continuous Improvement

Are you a Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex business challenges, improving processes and helping organisations work smarter?

We’re seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Business Design Specialist to join a large, complex organisation on a six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to organisation-wide business improvement initiatives, influence strategic outcomes and work closely with stakeholders across multiple business areas.

Rather than focusing solely on traditional requirements gathering, this role offers the opportunity to shape business processes, improve operating models and support meaningful organisational transformation.

The Opportunity

Working alongside business design and delivery leaders, you will help review and refine business processes, strengthen operating models and identify opportunities to improve service delivery, integration and organisational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and review business processes, services, organisational structures and operating models to identify improvement opportunities.

• Lead and support business design and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organisational strategy.

• Research, develop and maintain business design artefacts, including process models, roadmaps, reports, presentations and recommendations.

• Identify business risks, emerging issues and opportunities for process optimisation.

• Engage with stakeholders across different business areas to understand challenges, influence decisions and develop practical solutions.

• Provide advice, guidance and support on business design, service improvement and contemporary process improvement practices.

• Develop knowledge management resources and documentation to support consistent practices and organisational capability.

About You

You’re a strategic and analytical thinker who can see the bigger picture while translating complex business challenges into practical, achievable solutions.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis, business design, business transformation or continuous improvement.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business issues and develop effective solutions.

• Practical experience with business design and improvement methodologies, such as Human-Centred Design, Service Design or Lean.

• Proven ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, business cases, recommendations and presentations.

• Experience working with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile or Waterfall.

• The ability to work collaboratively across a complex organisation and contribute to strategic improvement initiatives.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in a professional discipline are desirable.
