Business Intelligence Analyst – Local Government

We are partnering with a progressive local government organisation focused on data-driven decision-making, digital uplift, and delivering high-quality services to its community. They are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join their Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Team and play a key role in transforming business requirements into impactful insights and enterprise reporting solutions.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to design, build, and maintain business intelligence solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making. You will support the ongoing maintenance of the BI environment, contribute to data warehouse development, and ensure the organisation has reliable, user-friendly access to reporting and analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into effective technical BI solutions using modern business intelligence toolsets.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business performance and decision-making.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Database Administrators/Data Modelers, and QA teams to ensure the data warehouse design aligns with organisational needs.

• Support and maintain the BI technical environment to ensure reliable reporting and data analysis across the organisation.

• Present BI reports through a corporate web portal to deliver a consistent, intuitive reporting experience.

• Provide end-user support and ensure BI services meet agreed service levels.

• Contribute to identity management activities by assisting with access policies and implementation of permissions.

• Support change management activities related to BI initiatives and broader transformation programs.

About You

You will be someone who thrives in a collaborative, public-sector environment and has strong technical skills paired with excellent stakeholder engagement. You bring a proactive approach, strong analytical capability, and a commitment to delivering accurate, secure, and high-quality data insights.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience designing and implementing business intelligence solutions.

• Strong proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).

• Experience working with data warehouses, ETL processes, and enterprise data models.

• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Understanding of information privacy principles, data governance, and public-sector reporting frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support and train end users.

• Knowledge of identity management, access controls, and change management processes is desirable.
