We're partnering with a leading Queensland infrastructure organisation looking for an experienced Category Manager to join their high-performing Procurement & Supply Chain team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of strategic procurement categories, influence senior stakeholders, and shape sourcing decisions that have a real impact across a complex, asset-intensive business.

The Opportunity

As the Category Manager, you'll lead the development and execution of category strategies while managing the full procurement lifecycle—from planning and sourcing through to contract and supplier performance management. You'll work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, optimise spend, and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead complex sourcing and tender activities from market engagement through to contract award.
• Negotiate commercial agreements that maximise value and minimise risk.
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers and drive supplier performance.
• Partner with business stakeholders to provide strategic procurement advice.
• Analyse spend, market trends and supplier data to identify cost-saving and value creation opportunities.
• Manage contract performance, governance and compliance across your portfolio.
• Deliver commercial recommendations and procurement submissions to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and category performance.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring a combination of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills, along with:

• 5+ years' experience in Category Management, Strategic Procurement or Supply Chain.
• Proven experience developing and executing category strategies.
• Strong sourcing, tendering and contract negotiation expertise.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Strong analytical capability with experience using procurement and ERP systems.
• A relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce or Finance.
• MCIPS or equivalent procurement accreditation will be highly regarded.
