• Communications and Change Specialist (EL1 Equivalent) – Federal Government Contract

  An opportunity is available for an experienced Communications and Change Specialist to support the delivery of a significant IT and business transformation initiative within a federal government environment.

  Working within a high performance and fast paced program, you will lead the development and delivery of communication and change activities that support the successful adoption of new systems, platforms and business processes. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical change into clear, meaningful messages for diverse stakeholder groups.

  This is a contract opportunity based in the ACT with onsite working arrangements.

  Key Responsibilities

  Communications and Change Delivery

  • Design and deliver communication and change management activities for IT, data and analytics initiatives, including system and platform rollouts.

  • Apply structured change management approaches to assess impacts and support effective adoption of new systems and processes.

  Governance and Executive Support

  • Coordinate program inputs, timelines and milestones to support governance and program oversight.

  • Prepare high-quality executive and board-level briefings, papers and presentations.

  Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with leadership, business areas and technical teams to build shared understanding of change impacts.

  • Translate complex IT and analytics concepts into clear and targeted communications.

  Training and Capability Uplift

  • Develop and coordinate training and capability uplift activities aligned with program delivery timelines.

  • Identify workforce readiness and capability needs associated with new systems or analytics initiatives.

  Program Integration

  • Collaborate with program and project teams to align communications and change activities with delivery milestones.

  • Provide pragmatic change support within a fast-moving delivery environment.

  About You

  To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience delivering communications and change management for IT or digital transformation initiatives.

  • Strong ability to translate technical change into business impacts and actionable messaging.

  • Experience supporting governance processes and preparing executive-level documentation.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across business and technical teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced, high performance program environments.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and delivery timelines.
