CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead a high performing finance function within a large and complex organisation delivering major infrastructure and operational programs.

This role will suit a commercially focused finance leader with strong government, infrastructure or project environment experience who can provide strategic financial leadership, robust governance and high quality reporting in a fast paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the finance function to ensure effective allocation and control of financial resources
  • Oversee complex accounting activities including infrastructure projects, cashflow management, external borrowings, leases and grants
  • Deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting outcomes within required timeframes
  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders and project teams
  • Lead financial performance reporting, analytics, business case support and funding submissions
  • Manage statutory reporting obligations and reporting to Audit and Risk Committees
  • Maintain strong relationships with Treasury, shared services providers, auditors and key government stakeholders
  • Drive financial governance, compliance and risk management frameworks
  • Lead, mentor and develop finance team members to build capability and performance

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Extensive experience leading finance functions within complex operational and project environments
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and financial reporting
  • Proven capability partnering with senior business stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of NSW Government finance legislation, policies and Australian Accounting Standards
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, capital or large scale project delivery environments
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or Certified Practising Accountants Australia
  • Ability to work onsite in Sydney NSW
