This position sits within a State Government division that manages a fleet of more than 11,000 vehicles across Queensland. Their work ensures agencies have safe, reliable, and cost-effective vehicles, and the accuracy of data is critical to every part of this operation — from ordering new vehicles to compliance, budgets, and reporting.
We are seeking a detail-focused Data Quality Officer to join the Business Systems team. The role is all about precision: loading, checking, and maintaining vehicle data in core systems. Mistakes can affect fleet-wide outcomes, so your ability to work carefully and consistently will make a real impact.
This is an on-site role in Brisbane CBD — you’ll be working closely with a collaborative, down-to-earth team that values accuracy and a good sense of humour.
Key responsibilities
- Enter and maintain detailed vehicle and variant information in fleet management systems.
- Carry out data quality checks, investigate anomalies, and ensure consistency across all records.
- Generate and distribute data quality reports to stakeholders.
- Manage user access forms and maintain supporting documentation.
- Support the Senior Data Officer and Business Analysts on data and incident-related tasks.
- Assist the Manager with administration including laptop tracking, spreadsheets, and asset management.
- Liaise with internal teams and external customers to meet data quality requirements.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume data tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel(intermediate–advanced: lookups, pivot tables, formulas, error checks).
- Ability to handle repetitive but critical processes reliably.
- Good communication skills and stakeholder management.
- Reliable, organised, and comfortable in structured environments.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in fleet, logistics, vehicle management, or similar data-driven roles.
- Government or large-enterprise background.
