DevOps Engineer – Azure Cloud Platform
📍 Remote (predominantly work from home)
📄 Initial contract until October 2026 with strong likelihood of extension

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the design, deployment, and ongoing management of a large-scale Azure Cloud Foundation platform. This role is ideal for someone with strong Azure infrastructure expertise, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, and a passion for automation, governance, and cloud security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure Cloud Foundation components using Bicep and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Develop and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including service connections, deployment approvals, and release automation.
• Implement and maintain automated Azure landing zone deployments, ensuring governance, security, networking, RBAC, and policy compliance.
• Configure and manage Azure Policy, management groups, subscriptions, and governance controls.
• Support cloud security by configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Log Analytics, and diagnostic settings.
• Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, alerting, dashboards, and operational monitoring.
• Manage Azure Key Vault, including access policies and secret rotation.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and as-built configuration records.
• Provide knowledge transfer and support operational handover activities.

About You

You'll have:

• At least 3 years' hands-on experience in Azure platform engineering.
• Strong experience developing Bicep templates for enterprise Azure environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline development and environment management.
• Strong understanding of Azure Landing Zones, management groups, subscriptions, and the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Experience implementing Azure Policy, RBAC, and enterprise governance frameworks.
• Solid Azure networking knowledge, including:
  • Hub-and-spoke architecture
  • Azure Firewall
  • VPN Gateway
  • Application Gateway
  • DNS Private Resolver
  • Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Excellent technical documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience delivering Azure Cloud Foundation or enterprise cloud platform implementations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework landing zone accelerator patterns.
