DevOps Engineer – Migration & Modernisation (Azure Focus)
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer
to play a key role in supporting the migration and modernisation of diverse applications (including .NET, .NET Core, Classic ASP, Java, PHP, and WordPress) from on-premise infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
for migrated and refactored applications.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
tools.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployments and integration.
- Implement containerisation strategies using Docker
and Kubernetes (AKS).
- Monitor and optimise application performance and deployment workflows.
- Enforce security and compliance standards across all environments.
- Support release management, rollback strategies, and environment consistency.
- Document DevOps processes, configurations, and operational runbooks.
Technical Skills & Expertise:
- CI/CD & Automation: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins; YAML pipelines, release gates, approvals
- Infrastructure as Code: ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, Ansible
- Containerisation & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Helm charts, container registries
- Scripting & Configuration: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, Azure Automation
- Monitoring & Logging: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
- Security & Governance: Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, compliance frameworks
- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS), hybrid cloud, on-premise integration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator Associate
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and cloud engineering, especially with application migration & modernisation projects
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience in Agile and DevOps environments
- Security Clearance Needed: NV1
