Digital Communications Adviser

Are you a digital all-rounder with a passion for storytelling and systems?

We are seeking a versatile Digital Communications Adviser to join a vibrant local government team located in a stunning coastal region of South East Queensland.

In this role, you will be the bridge between technical functionality and creative content. You will manage multiple websites and an intranet, ensuring they remain accessible, accurate, and engaging for our community and staff. From high-level CMS administration to hands-on videography and social media strategy, this role offers the variety and impact you’ve been looking for.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Adviser, you will provide specialist professional advice across web, social media, and multimedia platforms. You will work closely with internal clients to translate complex information into digital formats that resonate with a diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Web & CMS Management: Administer and maintain corporate CMS systems using HTML and CSS to ensure websites are accessible and up-to-date.

  • Multimedia Creation: Produce high-quality digital assets, including video, photography, and audio clips to support corporate campaigns.

  • Social Media & Strategy: Identify innovative solutions to maximize the reach and efficiency of our digital channels.

  • Training & Support: Empower non-technical staff through coordinated training on content creation and online form management.

  • Strategic Reporting: Provide data-driven insights and metrics to help business units make informed communication decisions.

About You

You are a technical problem-solver who understands that digital communication is about more than just code—it’s about connection. You have:

  • Proven CMS Expertise: Significant experience configuring and administering complex, large-scale websites (ideally within a government context).

  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and online form builders, coupled with an analytical mindset for software integration.

  • Multimedia Flair: Hands-on skills in digital asset creation (video/photo) and an eye for modern design.

  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build strong professional relationships.

  • Agility: A knack for managing urgent deadlines and multiple projects, particularly during critical periods like disaster management response.

Why Join Us?

Join an organisation dedicated to public sector excellence and community engagement. You will play a vital role in supporting our Corporate Plan while enjoying a workplace culture that values safety, ethical standards, and professional growth.
