About the Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to step into the role of Assistant Director, Stakeholder Engagement & Government Relations. In this position, you will provide high-level coordination and strategic advice to support senior executive relationships with Ministers, government representatives, market bodies, industry, and consumer stakeholders.
This is a fast-paced, high-profile role that offers the opportunity to influence energy sector engagement at the national level while supporting the Chair, Board and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic advice to senior executives and stakeholders on government relations and engagement priorities.

Draft and coordinate briefings, correspondence and reports that are accurate, timely, and aligned with organisational objectives.

Lead and manage stakeholder engagement initiatives, including high-level liaison with Ministers, government agencies, industry, and consumer advocates.

Take a strategic approach to building and maintaining effective relationships across internal teams and external partners.

Support the development and delivery of communications and engagement plans.

Manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment while exercising strong judgement and problem-solving skills.
About You
We are looking for a motivated professional with:

Demonstrated experience in government relations and stakeholder engagement, ideally in a Federal or State Government setting.

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality advice and briefings under tight time frames.

Proven ability to manage relationships at the senior executive level, with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

A proactive, strategic mindset, with the ability to work across diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
