They are now seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their Finance team and provide strategic financial support across a diverse portfolio of operational areas.


About the Role

As a Finance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing insights, analysis, and financial expertise to support informed decision-making. This role blends strategic partnering with hands-on financial management, including budgeting, reporting, modelling, and compliance.

You will work closely with business units to understand operational drivers, evaluate financial performance, and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Advisory

  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned business areas to provide meaningful financial insights on performance, trends, and risks
  • Deliver financial modelling and analysis to support business cases, projects, and new initiatives
  • Provide expert advice on budgeting, cost recovery, and financial sustainability
  • Support and train stakeholders in financial literacy and system usage

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
  • Produce accurate and insightful monthly management reports and performance analysis
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure integrity, compliance, and accuracy of the general ledger
  • Manage end-of-month and end-of-year processes including accruals, reconciliations, and journals
  • Track project financial performance to drive efficiency and resource optimisation

Data & Analysis

  • Analyse large and complex financial datasets (ERP extracts, Excel, SQL) to identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards to support evolving business needs

Strategic & Technical Contribution

  • Contribute to long-term financial planning and development of complex financial models (e.g. cost allocation, pricing, workforce planning)
  • Support audit processes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and internal controls

About You

You are a commercially astute finance professional with strong analytical capability and a proactive, partnering mindset. You enjoy working closely with stakeholders, translating financial data into actionable insights, and influencing decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within a complex environment
  • Advanced financial modelling and strong Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems and large financial datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate insights clearly
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
