Lead the Management of a High Risk Government Fleet Capability
An opportunity exists for an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the operational, compliance and lifecycle management of a Civilian Armoured Vehicle (CAV) fleet within a high security government environment.
This is an APS EL1 equivalent role requiring strong governance, procurement, risk management and operational oversight capability.
You will play a critical role in ensuring fleet readiness, safety, compliance and strategic asset management across a nationally significant security portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee end to end service delivery of the Civilian Armoured Vehicle fleet

Manage fleet related risk, budget, and resource allocation

Lead procurement activities including specification development and acquisition oversight

Coordinate fleet disposal and asset lifecycle planning

Conduct vehicle design reviews and acceptance inspections
-
Oversee warranty management and performance monitoring
-
Drive compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements

Manage and oversee driver training programs
-
Conduct familiarisation and handover training visits
-
Prepare project reports and provide executive level updates

Oversee technical and security compliance assessments
About You
You are a senior fleet or asset management professional with experience operating in secure, regulated or high risk environments.
You bring:

Demonstrated experience managing specialised or security sensitive vehicle fleets

Strong governance, procurement and contract management capability

Experience managing budgets, risk frameworks and compliance obligations
-
Knowledge of vehicle lifecycle management including acquisition, maintenance and disposal

Experience conducting inspections, acceptance testing and design reviews
-
Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
-
Ability to operate autonomously in a high accountability government environment
Mandatory Requirements

Minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance(must be active prior to commencement)

Ability to work onsite in Barton, ACT
