About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Functional Consultant – Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) to support and enhance a complex enterprise ERP environment.
This is a senior hands-on functional role focused on improving financial and operational processes through well-designed ERP solutions. You will not be coding, but instead working deeply with the platform to configure, optimise, and evolve Dynamics 365 F&O in line with business, finance, and compliance requirements.
You will act as a key bridge between Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology teams, ensuring the ERP platform supports accurate financial processing, strong internal controls, and scalable operational workflows.
A background in accounting, finance, or business operations is highly valued, and experience in healthcare or regulated environments is a strong advantage.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will own the functional lifecycle of ERP changes across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, including discovery through to deployment and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading workshops with Finance and Operations stakeholders to understand requirements, controls, and reporting needs
- Mapping current and future state processes with a strong focus on governance, compliance, and efficiency
- Translating business and regulatory needs into functional designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Making practical decisions on configuration vs customisation, balancing system capability, risk, and sustainability
- Configuring core Dynamics 365 F&O capabilities such as financial structures, workflows, approvals, posting logic, master data, and security
- Ensuring strong segregation of duties, access control, and audit readiness across the ERP environment
- Supporting integration design with banking, procurement, reporting, and other enterprise systems
- Contributing to data migration activities including mapping, validation, reconciliation, and sign-off
- Supporting testing, UAT, defect resolution, and release readiness
- Playing a key role in cutover planning, deployment activities, and hypercare support
- Driving continuous improvement through analysis of system usage, issues, and business feedback
- Supporting training, documentation, and adoption activities across business users
About You
You are a strong ERP Functional Consultant who understands both business processes and system configuration, and you’re comfortable operating in complex enterprise environments.
You will bring:
- Solid experience delivering Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or Dynamics AX) solutions
- Strong understanding of ERP financial and operational processes
- Hands-on experience configuring modules such as General Ledger, AP/AR, Procurement, Inventory, Projects, or Supply Chain
- Strong grasp of financial controls, approvals, and governance structures
- Experience with workflows, posting logic, security roles, and ERP configurations
- Ability to translate business and accounting requirements into system design
- Strong testing, UAT, and defect management experience
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across Finance, Operations, and Technology
Nice to Have
- Background in accounting, finance, or business operations (highly regarded)
- Experience in healthcare, government, or other regulated environments
- Exposure to ERP integrations and data tools (DMF, OData, etc.)
- Experience supporting period-end or year-end financial cycles
- Familiarity with agile or product-based delivery models
- Microsoft certifications (MB-310, MB-330, MB-300)
Why This Role Matters
This role is central to ensuring the organisation’s finance and operations backbone is accurate, compliant, and efficient. You’ll be helping shape how critical ERP processes run — from financial reporting and procurement through to operational workflows — ensuring the system is stable, controlled, and scalable for the future.
