Our public sector client is looking for a Governance Specialist for an initial 5-month contract. You'll play a critical role in strengthening and supporting the operational delivery of a large-scale IT governance framework.

This position offers a high level of independence and is ideal for a governance professional who thrives in hands-on delivery, enjoys engaging with stakeholders, and is passionate about driving strong governance practices across complex environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Contribute to the ongoing delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s IT governance framework, including associated policies, standards, and processes
• Provide clear, practical guidance on governance obligations, compliance requirements, and decision-making structures
• Monitor adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations, and support continuous compliance activities
• Assist in the identification, tracking, and reporting of technology risks and governance issues
• Develop, review, and maintain governance artefacts such as briefs, submissions, committee papers, reports, and formal correspondence
• Coordinate and support governance forums and committees, including meeting scheduling, agenda development, minute-taking, and action tracking
• Partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to embed consistent and effective governance practices

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience working within governance frameworks and governance operating models
• Strong written communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Experience working in large, complex, or highly regulated organisations
• Experience within higher education or a similar sector will be highly regarded
