Identity and Access Management (IAM) / ISVA Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist with strong technical expertise in enterprise access control and security integration. This role involves supporting an internal delivery team on a staff augmentation basis, working as a subject matter expert on an advanced IAM solution implementation and modernization program.

You will play a critical part in shaping and enhancing the organisation’s security posture, ensuring compliance with national cybersecurity standards such as the ACSC Essential Eight, while driving continuous improvement across IAM platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and integrate IAM product suites with enterprise systems and cloud-native applications.

• Automate IAM configuration deployments where feasible.

• Migrate existing configurations and user data from legacy IAM systems to new environments.

• Conduct health checks on IAM portfolios and propose improvement plans.

• Implement solutions addressing Essential Eight maturity requirements, including MFA integration and SIEM connectivity.

• Troubleshoot and resolve IAM solution issues.

• Develop and document technical designs, processes, and operational runbooks.

• Lead solution workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and knowledge transfer to client teams.

• Support go-live activities and provide post-implementation assistance.

• Act as the single technical point of contact for IAM-related initiatives.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP/S, HTTP/S, JavaScript, JSON, XML, SQL, PKI, OIDC, SAML, and JWT.

• Proficiency with IAM tools such as ISVA, Security Identity Manager, Directory Integrator, and Directory Server.

• Basic experience with DB2 and WebSphere Application Server.

• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Verify automation, and Entra ID.

• Proven ability to develop Security Directory Integrator (ISDI) Assembly Lines.

• Deep understanding of RBAC models and how to manage/enforce them.

• Familiarity with ACSC Essential Eight controls and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Skills

• Automation experience via DevOps pipelines.

• Experience with Mobile SDKs and app integration.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of containerisation and virtual appliances.

• Exposure to cloud IAM solutions, particularly Verify SaaS equivalents.

• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS IAM integrations.
