ICT Support Officer - Port Lincoln

The ICT Support Officer is responsible for delivering specialist technical services that support departmental ICT network infrastructure and systems across Port Lincoln. The role combines hands-on technical problem solving with a strong focus on customer service and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support – Deliver second and third level support for server, network, desktop, and peripheral issues of varying complexity, providing troubleshooting, consultancy, and resolution services
  • Customer Service – Provide a high standard of technical advice and assistance to Education system users, ensuring issues are handled professionally and efficiently
  • Incident Management – Accurately record, track, and manage all tasks, incidents, and service requests within the ICT service management system
  • Documentation – Contribute to the creation and ongoing review of infrastructure documentation, procedure manuals, standards, and policies to drive continuous improvement
  • Workplace Safety – Proactively identify and report hazards, injuries, and incidents to support a safe and healthy work environment

Key Competencies

  • Communication – Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and vendors, and clearly document technical solutions
  • Autonomy – Ability to work independently under limited direction, set priorities, manage workload, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality
  • ICT Technology – Solid experience across server and desktop hardware, networking, TCP/IP, mobile devices, information security principles, and common business applications
  • Leadership – Proven ability to motivate and mentor team members, coordinate and delegate tasks, and deliver results aligned to business objectives
  • Service Delivery – Demonstrated commitment to high-quality ICT customer service, using initiative to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Safety – Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity legislation, with a commitment to an inclusive and safe workplace
