Industrial Communications Network Specialist
Contract: 3 months, likely to extendLocation: South Australia – FIFO to mine site
Travel: FIFO from Adelaide
We are seeking an Industrial Communications Network Specialist to support the stability, availability and performance of critical network and operational technology environments at a remote mine site.
About the Role
You will be responsible for maintaining network stability, troubleshooting connectivity issues and supporting network changes across IT and OT environments. You will work closely with operational and technical stakeholders to resolve incidents and maintain the availability of critical production systems.Key Responsibilities
- Maintain stability across IT and OT networks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and connectivity issues.
- Configure and support new network connections.
- Proactively monitor network events and critical production systems.
- Provide rapid break-fix support following network outages.
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
- Safely execute planned maintenance and network changes.
- Work closely with site operations and technical stakeholders during incidents and changes.
Skills & Experience
- Strong networking experience with a solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks.
- Experience with Cisco switching, routing and wireless LAN controllers.
- Experience with Cisco wireless technologies and industrial switches.
- Understanding of Process Control Networks (SCADA).
- Experience with Cambium P2P and operational technology/fleet management networks.
- Ability to develop high-level network designs.
- CCNA certification is preferred.
- Mining or industrial environment experience is highly regarded.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Strong time management and operational skills.
