Job/Project Description – tasks to be performed on a daily basis:
- IBM Storage/Flashsystem & SAN Fabric Administration
- Storage upgrade and patching
- Storage replication and disaster recovery
- Handling snapshots, building systems using snapshots and recovery in case of a disaster (DR)
- IBM Spectrum Protect Implementation and Administration
- Managing backup schedules, policies and procedures
- Experience in performing Disaster Recovery tasks from backup server (Files, Database & Applications)
- AIX Server Administration on IBM POWER series hardware
- LPAR, PowerVM, PowerHA, HMC, NPIV, NIM Configuration & Administration
- AIX Upgrades/Migrations, Patching, Firmware upgrades, HMC Installation/upgrades
- IBM PowerHA (High Availability) Administration
- Compliance & Security Management of Infrastructure
- Security hardening and providing guidelines
- L3 Support and Escalation handling; training people on processes &technologies
- Handling BAU tasks, documentation of day-to-day activities, 24/7 On call Support
- Documentation of Service Desk processes and procedures
Essential skills needed:
- IBM Spectrum Protect Backup System Administration (L3)
- IBM Storage/Flashsystem Administration (L3)
- AIX Administration (L1 or L2)
- IBM Spectrum Protect Backup System Administration – Implementation and Administration of backup environment; Disaster recovery of servers/databases/applications from backup server
- IBM Storage/Flashsystem – Storage installation, upgrades and patching; Disaster recovery of servers using snapshots
- AIX Operating System – Implementation and Administration
- IBM PowerHA – Administration
- IBM PowerVM – Administration
