This role focuses predominantly on delivering high-quality Audio Visual (AV) support, complemented by strong desktop and network troubleshooting capabilities. The successful candidate will provide professional second-level technical support to university stakeholders, ensuring seamless teaching, learning, and communication experiences across campus and remote sites.
Key Responsibilities
Audio Visual Support (Primary Focus)
- Deliver advanced troubleshooting and support for AV systems in teaching spaces, meeting rooms, and collaboration environments.
- Ensure continuity of lectures, presentations, and hybrid/remote sessions through timely resolution of AV issues.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Unified Communications services, contributing to positive staff teaching and student learning experiences.
Desktop Support
- Provide professional second-level desktop support across Windows and macOS environments.
- Support the University’s Managed Operating Environments (MOEs).
- Resolve complex issues involving O365 apps (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word) and general productivity software.
Network Support
- Perform basic-to-intermediate network troubleshooting, including connectivity, routing, and endpoint issues.
- Collaborate with network teams on escalations when required.
Service Delivery & Administration
- Ensure all incidents and service requests are resolved within agreed SLAs and priorities.
- Accurately document incident resolutions, service requests, and project tasks in ServiceNow.
- Travel to remote sites as required to support the broader AV and desktop environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Skills
- Solid AV troubleshooting skills (primary requirement).
- Experience in desktop and resolving complex issues involving O365 apps
- Network troubleshooting experience (connectivity, basic diagnosis).
- Ability to support both Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
- Must be willing to travel when required.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to handle complex user issues professionally.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with proven capacity to manage competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, initiative, and maintain effective working relationships.
