Our Client is seeking a Junior IT Support Officer to provide first-line technical support to clients, managing incidents and service requests through to resolution. This entry-level role offers hands-on exposure across IT systems, networking, and troubleshooting, working alongside experienced engineers and technical staff.
This role is ideal for someone starting their IT career. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and mentorship while providing first-line support to clients, troubleshooting technical issues, and learning the fundamentals of IT service delivery.
What you will be doing:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding support requests and incidents
- Provide clear and friendly communication to clients throughout the support process
- Manage incidents and service requests through the helpdesk platform from creation to closure
- Perform initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
- Provide regular updates to clients throughout the incident lifecycle
- Monitor helpdesk queues and ensure tickets are actioned within agreed service levels
- Escalate issues to senior technical staff when required
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all support activities, communications, and resolutions
- Follow documented troubleshooting procedures and standard operating processes
What you need to have:
- Strong customer service and excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and troubleshooting principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
