We are seeking experienced Lead Data Engineers to support large-scale data platform initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines and systems that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support ETL processes in a production environment
- Analyse and resolve data and system issues, including incident management
- Perform data profiling, system and impact analysis
- Contribute to database and data warehouse design
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (designs, workflows, specifications)
- Provide code reviews and ensure adherence to development and testing standards
- Deliver high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure data quality
- Support continuous improvement of data systems, tools, and processes
- Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing
Required Experience
- Strong experience leading data engineering activities in large, complex environments
- Expertise in database design and data warehouse architecture
- Proven capability in data management strategy, governance, and standards
- Hands-on experience with data integration, including scripting and automation
- Ability to drive improvements across data platforms, tools, and processes
Desirable Skills
- 10+ years’ experience in ETL development
- Experience with enterprise data warehouse platforms (e.g. Teradata)
- Strong SQL and data analysis capability
- Experience with tools such as IBM DataStage, DB2, and UNIX-based scripting
- Solid understanding of SDLC, testing practices, and data governance
Working Arrangements

Additional Requirements
- Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
- Australian work rights required
