About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Training Designer / Content Designer to support a high impact program within the Australian Government environment.
This is a senior role where you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering engaging learning solutions that help staff understand complex technical concepts. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create structured, effective training that builds capability across the organisation.

This role requires a Positive Vetting (PV) clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end training solutions (eLearning, workshops, presentations)
- Translate complex technical information into clear, user friendly learning content
- Engage with stakeholders to identify training needs and define requirements
- Build structured learning pathways for different skill levels
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop accurate, relevant content
- Ensure learning materials meet usability, accessibility, and design standards
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve learning outcomes
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in training design and development at a senior level
- Strong ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience designing user-centred learning experiences
- Ability to analyse feedback and data to improve training effectiveness
Highly regarded
- Experience in Defence, intelligence, or other secure government environments
- Familiarity with structured learning frameworks and instructional design methodologies
- Existing Positive Vetting (PV) clearance
