As the Learning Designer, you will play a key role in designing engaging learning experiences and supporting the delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives through the Learning Management System (LMS), primarily using Moodle. You will work closely with lecturers, project managers, data analysts, industry experts, government stakeholders, and academic staff to create high-quality learning solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, implement and evaluate graduate program coursework, online learning modules, training resources and educational materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, academics, industry representatives, government stakeholders and students to design innovative and highly engaging learning experiences.
- Apply contemporary instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles and educational technologies to create effective learning solutions.
- Review, refine and continuously improve course content to ensure alignment with educational standards, learner needs and program objectives.
- Design and develop learning materials within Moodle and other LMS platforms, ensuring accessibility, usability and learner engagement.
- Support the delivery and management of multiple concurrent learning initiatives, with approximately 10–15 projects underway at any given time.
- Partner with lecturers, project managers and data analysts to ensure learning products are evidence-based, measurable and aligned with strategic outcomes.
- Utilise learner data, trends, insights and performance metrics to inform course improvements, evaluate learning effectiveness and enhance student outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of new and emerging training products that support workforce capability in critical technology and national security sectors.
- Engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders across education, industry and government to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in instructional design, learning design or educational development within vocational education, higher education or workforce training environments.
- Strong experience developing online learning solutions using LMS platforms, particularly Moodle.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design frameworks and learner engagement strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Creativity, innovation and a passion for developing high-quality learning experiences that deliver real-world impact.
