We’re seeking an experienced Linux / Unix Engineer to join a major IT/OT transformation program within the electricity distribution sector. This is an initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension. You're expected to be on site 2 days, with 3 days in office or WFH.
This role will see you supporting approximately 500 Linux environments while also contributing to the build and uplift of a new platform. It’s a hands-on position requiring strong technical capability, particularly across Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support across 500 Linux environments
- Contribute to the design, build, and deployment of a new platform
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise Linux/Unix systems
- Work within an IT/OT environment supporting critical infrastructure
- Engage directly with stakeholders in a fast-paced, client-facing setting
What You'll Bring
- Strong hands-on Linux/Unix engineering experience
- Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux is essential
- Experience supporting large-scale Linux environments
- Exposure to IT/OT or critical infrastructure environments
- Ability to work confidently in client-facing situations
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
