SENIOR MICROSOFT 365 ENGINEER
An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to join a large enterprise technology environment supporting critical operational and transformation initiatives.
This role sits within an Enterprise Technology Services function responsible for delivering high quality operational and technical services across Microsoft collaboration and productivity platforms. You will act as the key technical SME across M365 services while supporting both BAU operations and major uplift projects.
THE ROLE
- You will provide senior technical expertise across:
- Microsoft 365 tenancy management
- Exchange Online and Messaging
- Microsoft Teams
- M365 Copilot
- Power BI, Viva, Planner and collaboration services
- Security, compliance and governance including Purview, DLP and Information Protection
- Automation and scripting using PowerShell
You will manage Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations, support evergreening initiatives, maintain operational documentation and drive continuous improvement across the environment.
This role also contributes to key initiatives including Copilot enablement, messaging modernisation, automation uplift, compliance enhancement and platform optimisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide senior level support across Microsoft 365 services in a large enterprise environment
- Manage risks, security, compliance and governance across messaging and collaboration platforms
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks using PowerShell
- Lead adoption and optimisation of M365 services across business stakeholders
- Produce utilisation metrics, reporting and platform health insights
- Collaborate with architects, managers and technical SMEs to ensure platform stability and scalability
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Significant hands on experience supporting and maintaining enterprise Microsoft 365 environments (10,000+ users highly regarded)
- Deep technical expertise in Exchange Messaging and Microsoft Teams
- Strong PowerShell scripting capability
- Experience managing cloud and hybrid environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL service management principles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise, manage workload and perform under pressur
- Industry certifications or tertiary qualifications in ICT are highly desirable.
