Middleware Administrator – IBM MQ
📍 Melbourne or Canberra | 🔒Baseline Security Clearance Required

We are looking for an experienced Middleware Administrator to support and optimise enterprise middleware platforms with a focus on IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere. This role is permanent and offers a hybrid working model.

What You’ll Do

• Administer and support IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere across dev, test, and prod environments.

• Monitor, configure, and optimise middleware components (queue managers, channels, application servers).

• Perform patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and security hardening.

• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, including on-call support.

• Collaborate with application/infrastructure teams on integrations and deployments.

• Maintain operational documentation (SUDs, SOPs).

• Contribute to automation using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

• Align middleware operations with DevOps and Agile practices.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere.

• Knowledge of middleware integration, performance tuning, and security protocols (SSL/TLS).

• Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.

• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).

• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware (desirable).

• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks (ITIL v4 preferred).
