Monitoring Tools Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Location: Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 months with potential extensions
Security Clearance: Australian Citizen; Baseline or NV1 preferred

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Monitoring Tools SME to lead the transition of enterprise monitoring tools from an external provider to internal operations. The role ensures continuity, optimizes monitoring configurations, and integrates tools across IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead transition of monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, etc.) from external provider to in-house teams.

• Configure, tune, and optimize monitoring tools and dashboards.

• Ensure monitoring coverage for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

• Troubleshoot incidents and provide guidance to internal teams.

• Automate monitoring processes and support continuous monitoring practices.

• Maintain compliance, security standards, and vendor relationships.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years with enterprise monitoring tools and environments.

• Proven experience in monitoring tool transition projects.

• Strong knowledge of cloud (AWS/Azure), hybrid, and on-prem infrastructure monitoring.

• Australian citizen; security clearance desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Scripting for monitoring automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

• CI/CD and DevOps integration knowledge.

• Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components and performance KPIs.
