As the Network Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the networks that support core organisational functions and ensure their continued high availability.

Accountabilities:

→ Provide second and third level network management to support operations

→ Ensure availability targets are met for all network systems

→ Provide ongoing improvements to the network and ensure measurable increases in efficiencies

→ Ensure PCI DSS requirements for the network are met and maintained

→ Ensure network security compliance targets are met and all patches are up to date, in accordance with Patch Management Plans

→ Monitor the network using the network monitoring system and ensure highlighted issues are dealt with in a timely manner

→ Action any network Incidents and Service Requests, ensuring the Service Management procedures are adhered to at all times

→ Action all Incidents and Service Requests within agreed SLA timeframes

→ Ensure all incidents and Service Requests are logged in the IT Service Desk system and are maintained with accurate, complete and up-to-date information

→ Liaise with Customers to keep them informed of network related incidents or requests with time frame for resolution

→ Where required, escalate unresolved incidents or requests to Team Leader or Management

→ Implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the network, focusing on automation and simplification where possible

→ Contribute to the continuing development of Network processes, procedures, standards and methodologies

Experience/skills needed:

→ Advanced configuration knowledge and experience of Cisco Routers, Wireless, and Switches including Nexus

→ Advanced configuration knowledge and experience in security products such as Palo Alto

→ Advanced configuration knowledge of VXLAN, Advanced OSPF, BGP and route redistribution

→ Experience working with Networks that support Industrial Control Systems and a strong understanding of SCADA, Modbus, PLC, etc

→ Experience in dealing with mission critical, safety critical or SCADA systems is essential

→ Must be highly organized, motivated, and capable of working across multiple priority initiatives with minimum supervision
