Are you an experienced Oracle DBA with a passion for performance tuning, automation, and system reliability? We’re looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and play a vital role in managing and optimising mission-critical databases in a secure environment.
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension
Rate:$650 per day inclusive of super
Must be an Australian Citizen and willing to obtain security clearance
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Install, upgrade, and configure Oracle databases across environments
- Monitor and optimise database performance, tune SQL queries for maximum efficiency
- Manage backups and implement robust recovery strategies
- Apply security patches and manage database updates
- Handle user access, roles, and security permissions
- Maintain accurate database documentation
- Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to align on database needs
- Automate tasks using Shell, Python, PL/SQL, or similar scripting languages
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience
- Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Experience with backup and recovery planning
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, or Azure
- Expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Understanding of ITIL practices or prior experience in ITIL-driven environments
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
- Exposure to DevOps tools like Ansible or Terraform for automation
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
- Baseline security clearance is mandatory for this role
