About the Opportunity
A government organisation is undertaking a major transformation project to modernise how it delivers services and operates internally. The organisation is moving toward a more product-focused operating model and is seeking an experienced advisor to help shape the future structure, capability model, and transition approach.
This is a high-impact advisory role working closely with senior executives to review current operations, identify service/product groupings, recommend organisational structures, and support transition planning.
- The key deliverables of this role will be provide a recommendation report covering the product to be persued by the organisatiol and supporting organisational structure.

Daily rate of $1339.29 plus super

Key Responsibilities
- Engage with executive and operational stakeholders to understand current business functions and future service delivery needs.
- Identify and define appropriate “products” or service streams within the organisation.
- Develop recommendations for a future-state operating model and organisational structure.
- Analyse capability requirements, role functions, governance arrangements, and reporting lines.
- Prepare transition considerations, implementation approaches, and change impacts.
- Deliver executive-level reports, briefing papers, presentations, and recommendations.
- Provide practical advice balancing operational realities, workforce capability, governance, and customer experience outcomes.
About You
You will bring strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and organisational design capability, ideally within government or complex service environments.
Essential Experience
- Experience advising on organisational structures or operating model transformations.
- Ability to work directly with executive leadership teams.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and consultation skills.
- Experience translating strategic objectives into practical operating models and delivery structures.
- Excellent written communication skills including executive briefs and recommendation reports.
- Strong understanding of government operating environments, governance, and administrative frameworks.
Highly Desirable
- Experience in taxation, revenue, regulatory, or contestable service environments.
- Exposure to product-based operating models or service transformation programs.
- Experience within ACT, State, or Federal Government environments.
Ideal APS Equivalent
This role is best aligned to:
- EL2 Organisational Design / Transformation Lead
- Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant equivalent
Candidates from consulting firms, government transformation teams, PMOs, strategy units, or operating model advisory backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
