We are seeking a Planning and Assessment Officer to join a prominent Western Australian public sector entity for an initial 6-month engagement.

You will go beyond simple paperwork to analyse the "big picture" of development impacts, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the state's transport infrastructure .

What You'll Be Doing

• Assessing and reviewing various development and subdivision applications, referrals, and general planning enquiries .
• Analysing traffic and transport impacts , specifically evaluating access arrangements and network implications of new proposals .
• Providing thorough responses to applicants and stakeholders (such as Local Governments) using a wide selection of research systems .
• Applying planning policies and frameworks to ensure all developments align with transport network requirements .
• Engaging with stakeholders , including councils, developers, and internal teams, to build and enhance professional relationships.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a strong problem solver who understands the complexities of regional or urban planning.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven research, analysis, and problem-solving skills .
• Demonstrated ability in building and enhancing stakeholder relationships .
• A solid understanding of traffic and transport planning policies and associated systems .
• Experience in an urban/regional planning background or a planning-focused civil/transport engineering role .

Desirable Qualifications:

• A Diploma in Engineering, Planning , or a related discipline.
• Prior work experience within the public sector
