Our client is shaping critical operational capabilities by managing procurement activities and commercial agreements that support the IT Operations and Communications portfolio. This role will focus on leading end-to-end procurement processes, maintaining and renewing existing commercial arrangements, and establishing new contracts to deliver value, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes for ICT and operational systems, ensuring alignment with NSW Government frameworks and procurement policies.
- Develop, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts under relevant NSW Government schemes such as ICTA, Core& and SCM0053.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to forecast and plan procurement activities, ensuring transparency and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Drive vendor and contract performance management, including SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide commercial advice and represent procurement-related risks, issues, and opportunities to senior leadership, enabling timely and informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with governance, reporting, and disclosure obligations under NSW procurement frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, legal advisors, external vendors, and procurement board owners to support effective outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of procurement strategies, helping shape the future commercial and supplier landscape for FRNSW IT and operational services.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong ability to manage procurement and contract formation processes end-to-end, including negotiation and governance.
- In-depth knowledge of NSW Government procurement frameworks(ICTA, Core&, SCM0053, and other relevant schemes).
- Broad understanding of ICT service delivery principles and operational systems.
- High-level analytical, problem-solving, and commercial risk management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with competing timelines.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management, ideally within NSW Government or similar frameworks.
- Experience in vendor relationship management and ensuring operational performance compliance.
- Background in establishing or maturing procurement functions or implementing procurement best practices.
Additional Information
- Hybrid work arrangement – 3 days in office with flexibility for remote work.
- Travel may be required on occasion.
