Program & Administration Support Officer – ICT Contracts (APS5)
Location: Canberra, ACT | Onsite: 5 days per week | Salary: APS5 Equivalent | Contract: 12-months (with extensions)

Seeking two motivated Program & Administration Support Officers to join the ICT Contracts and Asset Management Section within the ICT Strategy and Investment Management Branch.
This is your chance to contribute to the delivery of high quality ICT contract management services supporting DFAT’s strategic objectives, while developing your expertise in government procurement and contract administration.
About the Role
As a Program & Administration Support Officer (APS5), you will:
- Provide day to day administrative support to ICT contract managers, ensuring compliance with departmental priorities, legislation, and policies.
- Manage electronic records, create and maintain registers, track invoice approvals, maintain central mailboxes, and record meeting minutes.
- Assist with drafting and maintaining procurement and contract documentation including tenders, panels, contracts, and statutory reporting.
- Collate and analyse contract data, prepare reports, and provide actionable insights to support departmental decision making.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities are completed with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
This role requires onsite presence in Canberra and offers exposure to high level ICT contract management processes, stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of government procurement frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in contract management support and administration within Australian government environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and government procurement policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Current AGSVA security clearance (minimum NV1).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Previous exposure to ICT projects, ICT contracts, or capability delivery.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
