Project Coordinator – Information Governance Framework

Are you ready to shape the future of information governance in a growing coastal community? This is your chance to lead a high-impact compliance project that will set the foundation for how records, data, and information assets are managed across the organisation.

Why this role matters
Recent legislative changes require all public sector organisations to establish a formal, enterprise-wide information asset framework. This project will design and deliver that framework—ensuring compliance, strengthening data security, and giving staff the tools and clarity to manage information responsibly.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the governance project: Develop and implement a complete inventory of information assets across systems and business units.

  • Ensure compliance & security: Apply controls, risk assessments, and classification to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Shape policy & process: Create practical policies, guidelines, and directives that support efficiency and compliance.

  • Engage stakeholders: Partner with teams across the organisation to align governance with operational and service delivery needs.

  • Educate & influence: Design and deliver training and awareness programs that embed governance into everyday practice.

What you bring

  • Proven project management skills, delivering outcomes within scope and on time.

  • Strong understanding of legislation and standards including the Public Records Act 2023, Local Government Act 2009, QGEA framework, metadata standards, and national data attributes.

  • Demonstrated experience improving records, information, or data governance frameworks in complex environments.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.

  • High-level writing ability to produce clear, practical policies, guidelines, and training materials.

Bonus skills (desirable)

  • Experience in local government or other highly regulated environments.

  • Formal project management qualifications or training.

  • A track record of leading information governance or compliance projects from start to finish.

Why join us?
This is more than just a compliance role—it’s about creating real change in how information is protected, shared, and used to serve the community. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to strengthening transparency, security, and service delivery.

Take the next step in your career and help build a governance framework that will serve one of Queensland’s most vibrant and diverse regions.
