About the Role
As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of services for a significant defence program focused on enhancing Australia’s capabilities in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. Your organisational skills will be instrumental in maintaining accurate project databases, assisting with documentation and stakeholder engagement, and supporting the overall success of this critical endeavour. What You Will Need
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Experience supporting project teams or PMOs
- Proven ability to manage databases, document control, and records
- Excellent communication skills, including preparing reports, briefs, and presentations
- Ability to coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements
- Skills in tracking and monitoring project activities and follow-up actions
- Experience maintaining workforce or resource databases
- Ability to work with security processes and confidentiality requirements
- NV1 security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Prior experience supporting defence or government projects is desirable
Additional Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in onboarding and offboarding personnel
- Familiarity with defence information management standards
- Proficiency in project administration tools and systems
- Previous experience in a defence or security environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
- Minimum two years supporting project management or coordination roles
- Experience working within defence or government organisations is highly regarded
Other Requirements
- Ability to obtain NV1 security clearance
- Flexible location within Canberra preferred; other locations considered upon request
- Commitment to the project duration until August 2027, with possible extensions
