Release Coordinator x2

We are seeking two experienced Release Coordinators to support a large and complex government program environment.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination and execution of releases, ensuring deployments are delivered in a structured, controlled and repeatable manner with minimal disruption to business operations.

You will work closely with project, technical, business and vendor stakeholders to manage integrated release schedules, coordinate environment readiness, support deployment and cutover activities, and ensure governance, quality and operational requirements are met prior to release.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain integrated release schedules aligned to project timelines, delivery cycles and business constraints
  • Coordinate release scope, sequencing, dependencies, freeze periods and go/no-go decision points
  • Coordinate environment usage across Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production and Production environments
  • Manage environment bookings, availability, configuration, access and data refresh activities
  • Track environment readiness, including entry and exit criteria and prerequisite validation
  • Coordinate deployment activities including runbooks, cutover plans, rollback strategies and release communications
  • Support deployment execution, including after-hours activity where required
  • Coordinate issue resolution during stabilisation and support transition to operational support teams
  • Coordinate change records, CAB submissions, risk assessments and implementation readiness approvals
  • Ensure release activities meet organisational standards, governance requirements and quality expectations
  • Maintain clear documentation, traceability and auditability of release and deployment activities
  • Provide clear status reporting, forward schedules and risk or issue updates
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, scheduling conflicts and competing priorities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across release and environment management practices, tools and templates

About you

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating releases, deployments or environment management activities in a large, complex organisation or program environment
  • Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
  • Experience managing dependencies, risks and stakeholder communications across cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of change control and service management practices, including ITIL-aligned governance and approval processes
  • Experience supporting SIT and UAT testing cycles, including environment readiness, entry and exit criteria and defect management
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and modern release practices, including CI/CD pipelines where applicable
  • Strong documentation skills, including runbooks, cutover plans, readiness checklists and status reports
  • Proven ability to solve problems, make sound decisions under pressure and drive outcomes in time-constrained environments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly desirable

  • Experience working in a government, regulated or large enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide system or platform implementations
  • Experience working across multiple environments with formal release governance frameworks
