Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Contract: 6 months
Location: Melbourne
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and coordinate delivery across multiple business and technology workstreams.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects and vendors to drive delivery, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure initiatives progress effectively from planning through to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery initiatives from planning through execution, deployment and closure.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand objectives, requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Partner with technology teams, architects and vendors to translate requirements into delivery plans.
  • Establish and manage delivery governance, reporting, RAID management and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource forecasts and delivery roadmaps.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, requirements discussions and decision-making forums.
  • Manage scope, dependencies, risks, issues and change requests.
  • Coordinate delivery across business, technology, testing, data and operational workstreams.
  • Drive testing, deployment planning, cutover and operational readiness activities.
  • Provide regular status updates to senior stakeholders, sponsors and steering committees.
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time and aligned with expected business outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' Project Management / Delivery Management experience across complex business and technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading and coordinating projects or delivery workstreams from concept through implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including senior business and technology leaders.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of delivery governance, risk management, financial management and reporting.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Testers and Operations teams.
  • Strong ability to manage ambiguity, dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and drive delivery outcomes.
