Our client, a global consultancy, is seeking an experienced SAP FICA Functional Consultant to join their Australian-based team and play a key role in delivering and supporting SAP FI-CA solutions. This is an initial 12-month contract, with possibility of extension.
This role is ideal for a hands-on consultant with strong utilities experience who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders to design, configure and optimise complex SAP FI-CA processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in business requirements gathering workshops focused on SAP FI-CA processes, including master data (Business Partners, Contract Accounts, payment terms).
- Design and configure FI-CA solutions including account determination, clearing rules, payment processing and lock management.
- Prepare solution impact assessments, functional designs and architecture documentation aligned with SAP best practices and standard capabilities.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to design secure, scalable solutions and gain business alignment.
- Perform system configuration, unit testing and functional testing for FI-CA process changes.
- Produce and maintain functional design and solution documentation for review and approval.
- Conduct root cause analysis of system issues and implement fixes.
- Support deployment activities and ensure smooth transition of changes into the production environment.
Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years’ experience as an SAP FI-CA Functional Consultant.
- Strong expertise in SAP FI-CA master data, account determination, clearing rules and payment processing.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience within the Utilities industry.
- Hands-on experience configuring dunning, interest calculation and write-off processes.
- Strong understanding of SAP billing architecture and third-party integrations.
- Experience configuring instalment plans, payment lots and lock management.
- Proven experience integrating SAP FI-CA with SAP IS-U, FI, SD and MM.
- Experience working with external system integrations including payment gateways and collection agencies.
- Knowledge of middleware and interfaces such as SAP PI/PO, IDocs and BAPIs.
