A large and complex public sector organisation in Queensland is undertaking a major ERP modernisation program to transform its financial and operational platforms. The organisation delivers a wide range of services to a large metropolitan community and manages a significant asset base, operating at scale across multiple business domains.
The ERP transformation is focused on improving efficiency, standardising processes, enhancing reporting and analytics, and enabling future-ready, cloud-based solutions aligned to best practice.
About the Role
The SAP FICO Analyst will support the Finance value stream within a multi-year ERP transformation program, with a primary focus on SAP S/4HANA Finance integrations. The role involves analysing finance and revenue processes, supporting solution design, and ensuring seamless integration between SAP and external systems.
You will work closely with Finance, Revenue Operations, IT, and delivery partners to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable SAP-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyse, and document financial and integration requirements across SAP and non-SAP systems.

Analyse end-to-end processes related to banking, revenue, accounts receivable, and financial accounting.

Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and improved financial transparency.

Support the design of integration workflows to ensure accurate and timely postings into SAP S/4HANA Finance.

Collaborate with technical teams on data migration, transformation, and integration validation.

Review and validate functional designs, configuration specifications, and reporting outputs.

Support testing activities including UAT, defect resolution, and deployment readiness.

Assist with training materials, operational documentation, and post-go-live stabilisation.

Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical delivery teams.
About You
You are a results-focused SAP FICO professional with strong business analysis capability and experience working in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
Essential Skills and Experience:

5+ years’ experience in financial systems, business analysis, or SAP functional roles.

Strong hands-on experience with SAP FICO, ideally within SAP S/4HANA environments.

Experience delivering or supporting complex finance-related integrations.

Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and requirements documentation skills.

Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.

Exposure to process modelling tools such as SAP Signavio or similar platforms.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced program environment.
Desirable Experience:

Experience supporting ERP or financial transformation programs in the public sector.

Understanding of financial compliance, audit, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Familiarity with SAP Activate and business analysis frameworks (e.g. BABOK).

Exposure to SAP Fiori analytical apps and financial reporting dashboards.

Experience working across Finance, IT, and operational teams.
