Are you a seasoned SAP Security and GRC professional ready to make a significant impact in the public sector? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP Security and GRC Software Engineer (Developer) to support government initiatives. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex security projects, ensure compliance, and strengthen enterprise security frameworks within a dynamic government environment.

In this role, you will oversee critical SAP Security and GRC functions across multiple SAP environments, delivering expert support, designing robust security architectures, and advising strategic improvements. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, guide automation initiatives, and ensure the SAP landscape remains secure, compliant, and aligned with best practices. Your expertise will directly influence the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of vital government information systems, making a positive impact on public health outcomes.

  • Contract role until June 2027 with 12 months contract
  • Canberra based role
  • Hybrid role ( 3 days in office and 2 days WFH)
  • Paxus pays weekly

What We Seek:

  • Proven SAP Security and GRC expertise with over 10 years’ hands-on experience across ECC, S/4HANA, and GRC environments
  • Strong knowledge of SAP role design, access management, and compliance standards
  • Experience managing Segregation of Duties (SoD), Firefighter governance, and privilege access processes
  • Skilled in configuring SAP GRC Access Control, Emergency Access Management, and risk analysis functions
  • Adept at automating security operations, supporting audits, and enhancing security controls
  • Effective communicator, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and translating technical security concepts into actionable insights
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment, with onsite presence of 3 days per week in ACT

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with business processes across Finance, HR, Procurement, and Sales systems
  • Experience with SAP upgrades, migrations, and security modernisation projects
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and Identity & Access Management (IAM) frameworks
  • Automation expertise in provisioning, audit reporting, and remediation workflows

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (a diploma or higher)
  • Demonstrated success supporting SAP security within government or large enterprise settings
  • Security clearance capable of obtaining Baseline clearance
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure environments and foster collaborative team dynamics
